Random Stuff

Chloe loves to help me cook and bake in the kitchen.  It's gotten to the point where she would rather help me make breakfast than watch cartoons!  And if you've been around in the morning when cartoons are on you know this is a big deal.  So the other morning I was showing Chloe how to "crack" an egg, pull it apart and drop the egg in the dish.  I turned around for a split second to toss the shell in the sink and Chloe had already taken it upon herself to do the next egg.  The picture above is what happened!  She said, "Look, I crashed the egg!".  I would have to agree that it looks more like a crash than a crack;)
The lights are up inside and outside of the house now!
I got my hair cut the other night and my stylist straightened it for me.  We were really wondering how Chloe would react to my straight hair, she has never seen it this way before.  When I got home and Chloe saw me, she started giggling and got right up in my lap and face and couldn't stop touching my hair.  She was saying how long it was, like Rapunzel's and like her teacher Ms Tracey's and kept running her hands through it.  Then she ran to get a brush and brush my hair, a novelty since that can't be done with my curly hair.  It was such a funny reaction and I'm glad it didn't scare her like the stylist said happens sometimes.

Another great story that I keep forgetting to share is that Chloe knows the Pledge of Allegiance.  This past Friday while celebrating Thanksgiving at my brother and sister in laws house, out of the blue Chloe recited The Pledge word for word.  We didn't teach her this and therefor we were even more surprised that she knew it.  It was awesome!  She said she learned it at school and recited it for us about 100 more times that night.  I'll try to get it on video and post it but she's not as inclined to perform for us anymore.

Holidays!!!

We decorated for Christmas a little early this year.  What can I say, I love the holidays and now Chloe does too:)  This is her section of the tree that she really liked to decorate!  A cluster of ornaments makes for the perfect finishing touch!
I tried/made a new tree topper this year and really like how it turned out!
We had to get a new tree this year, it's a 7 1/2 foot prelit tree.  A better size for our home compared to the 6 foot tree we had up last year from our years in the apartment.
Today Hannah and Chloe, aka Belle and Rapunzel, went to Disney on Ice!  They were excited to see each other after a long holiday break.
Their eyes were glued to the entertainment.  They didn't even want to get up during intermission!
All of Chloe's faves were there today.  Here are Tinkerbell and Peter Pan,
 Lion King
 Seven Dwarfs
 Jasmin from Aladin
Sebastian and the Little Mermaid Ariel!
Eugene and Rapunzel skating under the lanterns, Chloe's fave, she waited what seemed like forever to see this part!
 Tiana
All of the princesses danced and sang for the closing number.  Belle, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan plus all the princesses that performed in the show earlier.  What a fun afternoon with my little girl and our friends!!!

Thursday's a Busy Day

This morning we got to watch baby Lucas and Ethan.  Chloe was so excited to help out with the baby.  She was such a great helper.  Chloe held him, hugged and kissed him, put his pacifier back in his mouth when it fell out, shared her baby dolls with him.  Then she said she wanted to help him walk!
Friends sharing a chair during snack time:)  What a fun morning!

Chloe had a surprise when she was done with school today.  Her Uncle Rich picked her up and hung out with her after school!  I had an unexpected appointment and Uncle Rich was such a life saver and was able to help me out in a bind.  Thanks so much for helping us out!

Every day I count my blessings including living back in IA to be near family and having such an amazing family to live close to:).  Today was another great example of why I am so thankful.

Girls Day Out and The Hair!

Chloe and I got ourselves all pampered up and ready to have a fun Girls Day Out while daddy is working today.  Chloe wanted her hair curly like mine, so we put some gel in it, blow dried it and wha-la some beach waves, I love it and so did Chloe:)
First we went to Panera for lunch, Chloe's choice and always a fave of mine as well.  Then we went to the movie theatre and saw Puss in Boots, complete with some popcorn too.  Chloe loves Shrek and was pretty excited to see this new movie especially at the theatre.  She did a great job and had fun!

She was so pumped for an all girls day exclaiming that there were no boys allowed at lunch nor at the movies.  But when we got to the movies she asked if daddy could come next time and if we could see the penguin movie (Happy Feet 2).  I thought that was a great idea:)  I love her so much!!!
Then when we got home Chloe had a package in the mail.  She received Rapunzel's hair from Gramma and Grandpa K.  She just had to call them right away and let them know that she got it and to say thank you:)
She can't stop touching it and therefor getting her arms stuck in it too!
Looks even better with the dress:)

Chloe's 1st Dance Recital!

Chloe had her final dance class this past Wednesday.  They performed a recital of all the dance moves they have learned this year.  I am so proud of how well she did:)  She had a blast at dance class and will continue taking sessions 2 and 3 at the beginning of the year.  A couple seconds into the video she realizes that it's Cinderella's song and gets excited:)

Snow, Santa and Privacy Please!

This morning we woke up to our first snow of the season.  Chloe was staring out the window and turned around and excitedly proclaimed "Santa's coming!".

The other thing that Chloe said to me today that had me speechless and then laughing happened at school drop off today.  I took Chloe to the rest room and started to follow her into the stall like usual.  She turned around and started to close the door in my face and politely said, "I would like my privacy please." and continued to close and lock the door, use the facilities and open the door happily when finished.  Man, turning 3 really has changed things around here!
By the time Chloe got home from school there was only a small patch of snow left in our yard.  She was able to make some snow agels and a very small snow girl :)
Chloe also had fun walking backwards, making foot prints in this heavy, wet snow.  It was a fun day for sure!  I can see that she will be able to and want to play in the snow for longer periods of time this year.

Chloe had her 3 year check up yesterday and here are her stats; height= 37 3/4 inches, 64% and weight= 31.2lbs, 53%.  Still a healthy girl continuing to grow like normal:)

Best Friends even dress alike with out even planning it:)
Chloe had such a special birthday party celebrating with her family and friends!  We are so thankful for everyone that came and made this such a fun time!  Thank you so much for your love, time, support and gifts!

First week in November

Kaylee and Chloe playing dress up:)
Chloe's new outfit from gramma for school on Wednesday.

The rest of Chloe's birthday week went like this;

Tuesday we went to Story Time and she loves being in the 3-4 yo class, it's way more her style!  That afternoon we had our friends Sara and Kaylee over for lunch and a play date.  The girls had a blast playing inside and outside on that gorgeous day.  And us moms loved the girl talk and fresh air:)

Wednesday Chloe wore a new outfit from Gramma K to school.  It has a cape and since Belle wears a cape when playing outside with the Beast, Chloe thought that was awesome and didn't even take it off when she went inside to school:)  That evening she had dance class.  They have learned so many moves and Chloe has really blossomed as a dancer, it's just so cute to watch.

Thursday Chloe had another great day at school followed by her Thursday visit from Uncle Rich.  It was so sweet, Chloe was all snuggled up with her uncle while he was reading her Fancy Nancy books and then watched Shrek together.  She looks out the window every Thursday waiting for his truck to pull up:)

Friday we packed up the suitcase for Chloe's special slumber party with her Aunt Brigett and cousin Tyler.  Chloe was so excited and had been asking for weeks to spend the night with Aunt Brigett.  So we thought we'd try it out.  It was a huge success and when it was time to come back home Chloe cried asking if she could stay one more night!  That wasn't exactly the issue I thought I'd have to worry about!  They had a blast together and even took Chloe bowling for the first time:)  Here is a link to my nephew's blog if you'd like to see some footage.  http://devosracing.blogspot.com/
